The Center for Globalization Hong Kong (CGHK) is the first think tank in Hong Kong dedicated to the study of globalization. Along with well-known figures from home and abroad, the scholar Dr Peter Qiu founded the CGHK in 2019.
CGHK is a think tank as well as a forum platform. Its research agenda focuses on the complex of globalization along with its driving forces, transitions and consequences, covering a wide range of areas such as automation, the evolution of global trading and income evolution, geopolitical conflicts, foreign policies as well as political decision-making processes. Based on the solid academic research, CGHK is organizing forums, conducting dialogues and making policy study reports. Distinguished from the pure academic research, CGHK also acts as a news medium and makes comment on current affairs and worldwide political and economic issues. As a nonprofit organization, CGHK is independent of any political and commercial forces.
Based in Hong Kong, an international metropolis with the "one country, two systems" framework, CGHK takes full advantage of its freedom and civil society. With the slogan “only independent and in-depth research makes thoughts and advice valuable”, CGHK engages the first-class thinking, first-class intellectual elite and policy people on this platform, where opinions are exchanged freely and debates are engaged intensively. With a wide vision and profound academic background, CGHK is providing strategic analysis and policy recommendations both for governmental and commercial institutions.
